Frequently Asked Questions
Home Club
What is Hypercharge Home Club?
Hypercharge Home Club is a home EV charging rewards program that gives you a free home EV charger and cash rewards for charging at home.
Is the charger really free?
Yes - the charger becomes effectively free once your $299 refundable deposit is returned after your charger records 1,500 kWh of eligible home charging.
How is Hypercharge Home Club funded?
Home Club is funded through carbon-credit value generated from eligible home EV charging under Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations, which helps reduce charger cost and support customer rewards.
When do I start earning rewards?
You start earning from day one, with rewards beginning from your first eligible charging session at home.
How much can I earn?
Home Club members start at 3¢/kWh, with rewards increasing over time as home charging grows, up to 11¢/kWh.
When do I get my deposit back?
Your full $299 deposit is refunded once your charger records 1,500 kWh of eligible home charging and the milestone is verified. Refunds are processed within 30 business days.
How do payouts work?
Rewards are paid by e-transfer once your balance reaches $100. Payouts are processed on the last Friday of each month. If that Friday is a public holiday, payouts will be processed on the preceding business day.
To be included in that month’s payout, your balance must reach $100 by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the Sunday before the scheduled payout Friday. If your balance reaches $100 after that cutoff, your rewards will be included in the next eligible payout run.
Are there membership fees?
No - Hypercharge Home Club does not have any membership fees whatsoever.
EV Charger
What is Hypercharge Home?
Hypercharge Home is a Level 2 home EV charger designed for convenient everyday charging at home and offered through Hypercharge Home Club.
How do I choose between J1772 and NACS?
Choose the connector that matches your EV’s charging port. If you are unsure, check your vehicle specifications before ordering.
What is the difference between plug-in and hardwired?
The plug-in version connects to a compatible NEMA 14-50 outlet and is ideal for homes that already have one installed. The hardwired version is wired directly into your electrical system and is best for customers who want a permanent installation and the highest charging output.
What electrical setup do I need?
The 40A plug-in model requires at least a 50A breaker, and the 48A hardwired model requires at least a 60A breaker. A licensed electrician can confirm what is right for your home.
What if my home does not have enough electrical capacity for EV charging?
A licensed electrician can assess your electrical panel and recommend the appropriate solution. If you select the Hypercharge Preferred Partner option at checkout, the installer will complete this assessment for you and advise on any required upgrades or load management solutions.
Do I need Wi-Fi to use the charger?
Yes - Wi-Fi and internet connectivity are required for participation in Hypercharge Home Club and for tracking eligible charging sessions, earnings, and deposit refund progress.
Do you provide installation services?
Installation is not included, but Hypercharge can help connect you with a Hypercharge Preferred Partner if you would like installation assistance. Just select the option at checkout.
What warranty is included?
Hypercharge Home includes a 2-year warranty.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is a flat $30 CAD, unless otherwise stated at checkout.
Eligibility
Who is eligible for Hypercharge Home Club?
Hypercharge Home Club is designed for eligible Canadian single-family residential charging. It is not available for installations that form part of a multi-unit residential building's shared or building-managed EV charging infrastructure. Availability is also subject to shipping, installation feasibility, and the customer having the legal right to install the charger at the property.
Can renters join Home Club?
Yes. Renters may be eligible if they have written permission from the property owner and the legal right to install the charger at the residence.
Can townhouse residents join?
Yes. Townhouse residents may be eligible if they have the legal right to install a charger and sufficient electrical capacity.
Can condo or apartment buildings join?
Home Club is only for single-family residential charging, including townhomes with their own meter, and is not available for condo or apartment buildings.
Do I need to own my home?
You need to own the home or have permission to install the charger at the address used for the program.
Can I order more than one charger?
The refundable-deposit Home Club offer is limited to one charger per address.
Is Home Club available outside Canada?
Home Club is currently only available for Canadian residential addresses.
Deposit, Refunds, & Cancellations
Why is there a refundable deposit?
The refundable deposit reserves your Home Club charger and supports participation in the program. Once your charger records 1,500 kWh of eligible home charging and the milestone is verified, your deposit is refunded.
Can I cancel before my charger ships?
Yes. Contact Hypercharge Support as soon as possible. If your charger has not shipped, your order can be cancelled and your refundable deposit returned.
Can I return the charger after delivery?
Within 30 days of delivery, the charger may be returned if it is unused, in its original packaging, and in original condition. A $75 restocking fee applies, and original shipping and return shipping are non-refundable.
What happens if I cancel after 30 days?
If you cancel after 30 days but before your deposit has been fully refunded, you may return the charger. A $75 restocking fee applies, return shipping is your responsibility, and damage deductions may apply if the charger is returned in poor condition. Once your deposit has been fully refunded, you may end your Home Club participation without returning the charger.
Do I keep the rewards I already earned if I cancel?
Yes. If you cancel before your deposit has been fully refunded, you will receive your remaining deposit balance and any earned, unpaid rewards, subject to verification, applicable deductions, and the program terms.
Is there a deadline to reach 1,500 kWh?
Yes. You have 24 months to reach the 1,500 kWh milestone, starting from the later of the date your Deposit is paid or the date your charger is delivered. If you do not reach 1,500 kWh within that period, Hypercharge may retain your Deposit in full, subject to applicable law and any non-waivable statutory rights.
App, Account, & Setup
Which app do I need?
You’ll use the Hypercharge Home Club app to register your charger, track your deposit refund progress, view your earnings, and manage payout status.
Do I need to register my charger?
Yes. Your charger must be registered in the Home Club app for eligible charging sessions to count toward rewards and your deposit refund progress.
Do I need to use the app every time I charge?
No. Once your charger is installed, connected, and registered, you can charge normally. The app is used to track your Home Club account, rewards, and progress.
Can I view my charging history?
Yes. The Home Club app will show your eligible charging activity, earnings balance, earn rate, payout status, and progress toward your 1,500 kWh deposit refund.
What happens if I change my Wi-Fi router?
You’ll need to reconnect your charger to your new Wi-Fi network through the Home Club app. Contact Hypercharge Support if you need help reconnecting.
Connectivity & Troubleshooting
Will the charger still work if Wi-Fi goes down?
Yes. The charger may continue charging if it temporarily loses its internet connection. However, charging usage that occurs while the charger is offline will not count toward rewards or deposit refund progress and will not be credited after connectivity is restored.
Do offline charging sessions still count?
No. Charging data must be received and recorded by Hypercharge systems while the charger is online. Sessions that occur while the charger is offline will not count toward rewards or deposit refund progress and cannot be credited retroactively.
What happens if my charger stays offline?
Charging usage that occurs while the charger is offline will not count toward rewards or deposit refund progress. If your charger remains offline for 90 consecutive days, you may be removed from Home Club and may forfeit any unrefunded deposit and unpaid rewards. Contact Hypercharge Support if you are having Wi-Fi or connectivity issues.
Why are my energy values or rewards not updating?
Your charger may be offline, disconnected from your Home Club app account, or missing required registration details. Check your Wi-Fi connection and app status first. Charging usage that occurs while the charger is offline will not appear later or be credited retroactively. Contact Hypercharge Support if the issue continues.
What should I do if my charger is not connecting?
Check that your home Wi-Fi is working, confirm the charger is within range, and follow the reconnection steps in the Home Club app. Charging usage while the charger is offline will not count toward rewards or deposit refund progress, so reconnect it as soon as possible. Hypercharge Support can help troubleshoot setup issues.
Moving & Ownership
Can I take the charger with me if I move?
Yes. If you move within Canada, you may take the charger with you without losing progress toward your deposit refund milestone. You’ll need to update your address and reinstall the charger at your new residence.
What happens if I sell my home?
Home Club is tied to your customer account. If you sell your home, you may take the charger with you or end your participation.
Can the new homeowner take over my Home Club account?
No. Home Club participation is tied to the original customer account and is non-transferable. A new homeowner may enroll separately.
Can I install the charger at a different address?
The charger must be installed at the residential address associated with your Home Club account. If you move, contact Hypercharge Support to update your account before reinstalling the charger.

How do I get help with my order?
Contact Hypercharge Support for help with your order, charger setup, Home Club registration, deposit, rewards, or payout details.
Who do I contact for support?

What happens if my charger needs to be replaced under warranty?

What happens if my charger fails after the warranty period?
If your charger is out of warranty and you need a replacement to continue participating in Home Club, a new $299 refundable deposit is required unless Hypercharge agrees otherwise.
